How many canapés to serve?
One of the first questions is how many canapés to allow per person when catering for an event?
This will generally depend on the function and how long it lasts. More savoury canapés are generally needed for drinks receptions – perhaps four to six per person for a one-hour event – and fewer if the reception is preceding a dinner, in which case four should be sufficient.
If a drinks reception is running for longer, allow for two to three canapés per person, per hour after the initial hour.
Thaw and serve or heat and eat savoury canapés are super convenient to have in stock, as this helps avoid unnecessary waste and cost. Simply thaw according to demand. Frozen canapés really are your friend!
Don’t forget your plant-based customers
